Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Children are happy and enjoy their time at the club. They eagerly arrive and quickly settle to their chosen activity. Staff have a good understanding of how to support children in their play. They are enthusiastic and actively join in with children’s games. This helps to support children’s enjoyment and involvement. Children’s behaviour is good. Staff use suitable methods to help children learn the rules of the setting. This means that children understand what is expected of them. Staff work well with parents to gather important information about children’s likes and dislikes to help ensure their care is matched to their individual needs. The management team involve staff, parents and children when they reflect on the quality of the club. Advice and guidance provided by local early years advisors is also acted upon to ensure continuous development and ongoing improvements. It is not yet outstanding because: At times, the use of the radio in the main playroom distracts children and hinders their concentration and listening skills. Staff have not been successful in establishing an effective, two-way flow of information with the schools children attend, to be fully able to complement the learning that takes place there.
