Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Managers strive to provide a high-quality provision. They value and act on feedback from parents. Plans for improvement are successfully implemented in order to continue enhancing outcomes for children. Parents speak highly about the effective communication with staff. They value the opportunities they have to contribute to their child’s assessment and to continue their learning at home. Staff regularly observe children’s play and plan activities that reflect their interests and what they need to learn next. Children are happy and enjoy their time at the nursery. Key persons are attentive and children form warm, trusting relationships with them. This helps to promote children’s emotional well-being and they demonstrate high levels of confidence and self-esteem. Staff promote children’s language and communication skills well. They introduce new words and model simple vocabulary during daily routines and play activities, in order to support children’s acquisition of speech. It is not yet outstanding because: Staff working in the pre-school room do not always make the best use of opportunities to challenge and extend children’s mathematical understanding. Staff working in the bumble bee room do not always focus the experiences and activities they provide consistently enough on what children need to learn next to help them make the best possible progress they can.
