Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is outstanding Children quickly develop very strong emotional attachments with staff, especially their designated key person. Children’s social skills and friendships develop rapidly because : of the excellent support provided and the consistently high expectations of staff. The organisation of the indoor and outdoor areas is excellent. Staff are keenly alert to ensure that every child is included and kept safe. This strongly supports children’s well-being. Partnerships with parents are built on mutual trust and respect. Parents spoken to on the day of the inspection applauded the high standards across the nursery. Staff make assessments that accurately identify any gaps in children’s knowledge and understanding. Well-planned activities ensure gaps are rapidly closed and children make excellent progress. Self-evaluation is continuous and sharply focused on identifying future improvements. Parents’ and children’s views are highly valued and actively inform these plans. Staff actively promote healthy lifestyles. Children enjoy a very good range of nutritious snacks and meals. The creatively designed outdoor environments allow children time to develop their superb physical skills and make their own risk assessments. There are highly effective arrangements for children as they move between rooms and to new settings in order to help them settle quickly. There are extremely successful learning partnerships with parents right from the start. Parents are kept very well informed about their children’s progress over time. Staff are eager to know about children’s learning at home to ensure their judgements are fully robust. This helps to inform their outstanding planning for children’s next steps. Staff training and supervision have resulted in consistently high standards of teaching across the nursery. Staff’s knowledge, commitment and enthusiasm are exemplary.
