Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good There are effective systems in place for the supervision and development of staff. The management team show a strong commitment to the provision of relevant training for staff in order to improve their knowledge and practice. Managers take prompt and decisive action in response to any concerns raised about children’s welfare. Staff provide a caring, nurturing environment for babies and younger children. This gives children a firm basis from which to explore their environment and communicate with others, and they progress well. Partnership with parents is good and there are effective methods of communication in place, such as a parents’ forum, which provides parents with an opportunity to be involved in how the provision is run. It is not yet outstanding because: The system to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the provision, and how it can be further improved, is not yet embedded. Although staff know the children well, assessments are not completed regularly, which means they do not always accurately reflect what children can already do. Some adult-led activities do not make the most of the potential learning opportunities for children.
