Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Well-qualified staff use their good knowledge of how young children learn. They plan and provide an exciting and creative learning environment that supports children’s confidence, independence and learning. The manager accurately reviews the quality of the nursery and systematically identifies areas for further development. Children’s communication and language skills are developing well. Staff skilfully match the level of their communication to each individual child and provide the right level of support to further extend children’s vocabulary and understanding. Partnerships with parents are strong. Staff keep parents fully informed about their children’s development. Parents are very complimentary about the quality of care and education their children receive from the calm and compassionate staff team. Children’s mathematical understanding is developing well. Staff encourage children to count, recognise numbers and identify two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. Staff develop warm relationships with children and sensitively help them to behave well. Younger children are learning to take turns and develop strong friendships. Older children explore and name their feelings. It is not yet outstanding because: Staff do not always help children to understand how and why, self-care hygiene routines keep them healthy. Staff do not always teach individual letter sounds as they support children to read and recognise letters.
