Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Staff support children’s language development very well. For example, they encourage plenty of meaningful conversation with older children and describe the things that babies can see around them. Children communicate well and make good progress from their starting points in learning. Children are very happy, settled and secure. They build strong bonds with staff, who are caring and supportive of their individual needs. Children develop positive attitudes towards learning and are very willing to try new things. The managers use self-evaluation well to help improve the quality of care and teaching. They effectively include the views of parents, children and early years professionals and identify areas for further improvement. The managers and staff create strong links with local schools. For example, they invite teachers into the nursery to meet the children and share valuable information to support their move to school. It is not yet outstanding because: The managers and staff do not track different groups of children closely to help identify any gaps in their learning and help them make even better progress. Staff do not consistently share children’s next steps in learning with parents to help fully engage them in their children’s learning.
