Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Overall, children enter a vibrant, welcoming environment. They access a wide variety of toys and activities that encourages their natural curiosity to learn. Children learn to negotiate as they play, in order to share the toys and take turns. They behave well. Staff praise children, recognising their efforts and celebrating their achievements. Children play in a safe and secure environment. Managers and staff are vigilant to the safety of the children at all times. Children are also encouraged to think about their own safety both inside and when playing in the garden. Children spend lots of time outdoors being physically active. They access a wide variety of equipment that enables them to climb and explore. Partnerships with parents are strong. Managers and staff actively involve them in all aspects of nursery life and share ideas for extending their child’s learning at home. It is not yet outstanding because: Staff miss opportunities to teach babies and younger children the skills needed to use some equipment properly, such as cutlery, to help nurture their developing independence. While staff provide displays, such as to support and enhance children’s awareness of their own health and well-being, these are placed too high and out of the range of visibility for them to see, so they can fully benefit from this information.
