Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is good The registered person works closely with the new manager. They ensure that all staff, parents and children are fully included in the self-evaluation processes of the nursery. This helps to identify clear targets on which to focus to ensure that all children benefit from attending the nursery. Staff follow children’s lead and support their emerging interests well. The manager monitors the planning and observes staff practice effectively to ensure all children are suitably challenged. This helps to ensure that teaching has a positive impact on all children’s learning and progress. Outcomes for children are good. Staff are well-supported by the new manager. For example, rigorous supervision enables staff to discuss their key children, their training needs and anything else that concerns them. Positive relationships between management and staff are demonstrated well through staff’s renewed confidence and motivation. Staff work closely with other professionals, including the local schools. This helps to ensure consistency and continuity for children’s care, learning and development. It is not yet outstanding because: Staff do not consistently seek the highest level of detail from every parent about what their child already knows and can do, prior to the time of entry to the nursery. At times, staff do not do all they can to reduce background noise, to maximise children’s listening and concentration skills.
