Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Partnerships with parents are effective. Parents speak positively about the service they receive. They comment that staff regularly share information regarding children’s development and provide opportunities to support future learning at home. For example, they share positive feedback in relation to the lending library resources available. Children gain the necessary skills needed to help prepare them for their future learning. Arrangements for transition are robust. For instance, the setting invites teachers from local schools to visit children and learn more about their current stages of learning. Staff value their partnerships with external professionals. Staff use strategies and their expertise to provide detailed support packages for children who have special education needs and/or disabilities. Staff provide children with a stimulating and welcoming environment indoors and outdoors. Children are motivated and curious learners. For example, children talk with staff about the patterns and marks they make using a variety of tools. They discuss the colours they mix together with paint, comparing them from the original colour. It is not yet outstanding because: Leaders do not consistently monitor the quality of teaching and learning to support and develop staff knowledge and skills. Staff do not fully consider the naturally occurring opportunities to support older children to develop even better self-control and respect for others.
